All you have to do is rename hall.dll and prestodigitato, no boot. Oh yeah, did I forget to tell you it won’t boot in safe mode either. Hehehehehehe Now if you’re smart you would have backed these files up before you did such a thing so it wouldn’t be such a pain in the arse to restore them. Otherwise you have to start the restore process, yada yada yada. I’d rather boot to a cd that had DOS for NTFS on it and just copy it from a floppy disk. Forgot about those didn’t you. Most of your XP machines will still have floppy drives for all you novices out there.
If you have to, you can expand it from the I386 folder on the installation disk, but you won’t find it listed hal.dll, it will be listed as hal.dl_ Also you could rename csrss.exe, smss.exe or lsass.exe, but I reaaaaaaaalllllly wouldn’t recommend it. Really hosed, me know you to be. hehehehehehe
